Looking for a Travel Rod 4-6 pieces

Gday all. Have been looking for a very compact travel rod to take with me on an overseas holiday to match to my Stradic 3000FJ. Would like it to compact down as small as possible possibly 4-6 pieces. Don't want a Telescopic Rod though.

Did some looking around on FWrecked search and it seems alot of people recommended Nitro 007 traveller 6 piece rods(other than their price).

So does anyone know off the top of their head who might sell these locally? Will ring around all the tackle Stores myself, but just in case someone can save me the ringing around.

Or alternatively does someone know an alternative rod/brand that would be just as good? Would like the packed down rod to be no longer than say about 40-50cm, so think it would have to be 4-6 pieces as I had a look at a Shimano Raider 3 piece and while a good rod it was a bit too long packed up for what I am looking for.

Or alternatively again, if anyone has a 4-6 piece travel rod that would suit a Shimano Stradic 3000FJ that they would be willing to sell I would be very interested.

Thanks, Buz.

I'm looking for a travel rod

I'm looking for a travel rod too, but just a light flicky for trout when I go to NZ.

Living in Karratha means I have to buy online.  I have been searching the web a lot and basically narrowed it down to Okuma or a Raider.

still uncertain which way to go.  Any of you guys who work in tackle shops got any advice / prices.

thanks

I don't know who has them in

I don't know who has them in stock at the moment Buz but the Shimano Raider Kayak 3-6kg 6' 3" comes in a 4 pce model that would probably suit your needs. They have them on the bcf website for $119. The Tcurve Travel series also come in 4 pce models but not sure that any of them would break down short enough for you.

Cheers for the info guys. Got it all sorted now thanks to Tackle HQ. Ended up going the Nitro 007 Traveller. Felt some of the other shimano and daiwa options. But none felt as good as the nitro to me. Plus it compacts down so small!!!! Oh well its my Bday on saturday so just calling it an early bday pressie to myself to justify the $$$$ :D hahahahaha. Cant wait to get something on it.

Great choice, mate,... You'll love the power in that rod,...  Great fun and unbelievably strong.  Some guys I know are using 2-4 kg rods to hit snapper,...  Good fishing!  jmc
