Running the gauntlet like that just isn't worth it. Good that he got busted but how many others do the same

 That's just it mate, no

Sun, 2025-10-05 08:43

That's just it mate, no licence required.

Mate of mine bought a fishing drone recently and used it at Port Gregory, said he and his mate bagged out on Snapper in just over an hour.

Fella came up to the Bird two weeks ago, drone fished and nailed a 14 kg Dhuie and a Pinky

If they bring in strong bans for boaties then there will be an explosion in this type of fishing imo, will they ban this too...

Even atm there are lots of people doing it, are they taking that into consideration? Gotta wonder.

 But Lifetime!!!

In Australia you get life for Murder in extreme cases. Im not defending him at all, but he appears young (and maybe then stupid).

Perhaps 20yrs so he can enjoy fishing in his retirement etc.

 I'm curious (Not condoning

Sat, 2025-08-30 15:46

I'm curious (Not condoning his actions)as to how many fish he actually had. It doesn't really say an amount properly. In the link it looks like four demersal fish. I know that's over the limit for a solo fisherman for one days fishing, but thats a hell of a steep fine for two fish extra plus trying to sell them. One of the fish was a Swallowtail which is a small fish not much bigger than a Herring or bream which isn't considered in the demersal catch in any other region.

Just curious as normally they would say 10-20-30 fish etc.

Everyone knows selling fish is a huge no no

If fisheries go lightly on people breaking rules due to apparent ignorance then nobody gets booked

If you don't know the rules don't fish

Our fish stocks are precious
