There pretty much everywhere mate. I went to Mandurah and got a feed. The guys from work have got them from the Swan down to Mandurah. I guess it;s really up to you and where you want to go. Good luck and hope the young feela and you get some good time in together.
Hopefully everywhere...2 weeks ago we got 8 size down mandurah in 4 / 5 pulls , this time last year we were bagging out in 2 pulls ...Going to have a looksy in the swan this arvo hopefully do alright ..hanging for a good feed ...$22 / kg @ my local
lower reaches of the swan have done very well............try different depths, and the deeper the better, the shallows are holding burried females right now. go throught some of the most recent crabbing posts and you will see the depths Ryan,Myself and others talk about.
We went on Saturday afternoon/evening in the swan. Picked up three big bluey’s from 4 pulls in the moorings on the city side of the Raffles. After a move over towards Como Jetty, we didn’t even see one.
There were 5 boats crabbing the upriver side of Canning Bridge thismorning on the drive to work. Even at lunchtime, there are two boats crabbing around Sampson Spit near como. Lots of people out.
Cheers all, looks like Mandurah will be the go. Might put in at the cut and work the shallows down the eastern side of the estuary. One is enough to get the boy excited and that is all that matters to me
I went out early this morning in Mangles Bay before this wind has come up- still plenty of undersize crabs, however the three that I kept that were a decent size and cooked have been mushy flesh and hollow inside.
That's a shame, was planning on doing some night snorkelling down there over the weekend and getting a few, have seen quite a few sized ones over the weeds during the day recently. Anybody know how the shoalwater side of things is going?
Saw your chariot down there last weekend Moking, love that you can fit the car and trailer in a standard car bay! :)
Just went for lunchtime walkies and there were two guys scooping in the shallows at Como and they had one, and there were another two guys with nets at the end of the jetty and they had blowies...
Both times in the river. caught 11 first time with 4 the biggest I've ever seen. heaps of girls with berries. Yesterday, got 14. Little smaller but all boys. Only got 1 girl and she had berries. Deeper = better.
We got our bag on Saturday, ended up throwing back 4 on the last pull.
Timing is the key, we got 4 in 3 hours and 20 in one hour, same sport just the timing is important and somtimes you just have to sit it out until that are on the move / feeding.
From my experiance 5 swan crabs will give you the same if not more meat then 30 Mundurah ones.

What crabs?
There are no crabs in Mandurah it's a myth. Especially on long weekends I've found!

mandurah for the tourists
bahahaaha i agree tonyb, dont think mandurah will ever be the same once you have crabbed elsewhere. save mandurah as the secret spot for tourists!
