Been plenty of pinks, 50-60cm dhuies, and stonker kgw around the islands and five fathom bank lately. Heaps of Skippy in the burley trail and solid sambos if you're lucky!

Nice tub

Sun, 2013-09-01 20:34

Hey Poser, nice tub. GI is my usual patch, and I'm often down that way & keen for a fish. Don't know if you could learn anything off me though, but Beau and Vinesh seem to come up with the goods!

Look forward to seeing some photos with blood on the deck!

How big is it ?

How big is it ?

I looked into twins and due to being double the weight i wouldnt on a smaller boat ! Only for reliabilty and there pretty good these days.

40hp yam = 2 x 100kg

70hp yammy = 1 x 110kg

Someone's selling a 50HP Mariner 4Stroke on Gumtree

i'm trending the wrong way -

Mon, 2013-09-02 07:55

i'm trending the wrong way - 6.4m, 5.9m down to a 4.2m. my next boat will address this issue...

my 4.2m quintrex has a 40hp on it and it has enough power to get out of the hole quite quickly and does a touch over 25 knots, but i would have thought with the extra weight and length of yours you'd want a few more ponies.

anyway, good luck with it mate and take it easy exploring, particularly if you go around the back of GI as there are reefs all along the back of the island. tip would be to watch the water as much as the GPS as too many people rely solely on whats on the screen.

Nice

Nice first boat , looks like a great tub to learn with . 40 hp might be a bit under powered but i wouldn't worry about that for a while. It will definately get you around in the sound and even out on the 5 Fathom no prob's .
