Taking the mrs out for a squid tomorrow and wondering where anyone would recommend. I live in Bulter and normally head out of Mindarie and Ocean Reef but dont mind travelling a bit further either way.

I tried yesterday morning behind spinnakers cafe.. between the rocks and the fuelling jetty.. with no luck.

If you are boat or kayak,
If you are boat or kayak, head out towards little island. the broken sand / weed ground on the eastern side of the island usually holds good squid.

Hi Naitanui
Went for a squid in the sound over the weekend
Second time in two weeks for not much luck
Just 3 or 4 each trip around southern bank and sulfur bay along side Garden Island.
No one eles doing any beter than us [ Southern Bank ] where there was 5 or 6 boats all chasing them.
I'm sure they were there but for some reason not interested.
Good luck where ever you go.

4 squid in 30min thats alright .. can't get out till next week myself hopefully they'll be firing , we usually drift for them Nat rather than anchor up and if it's too fast throw out the drift anchor to steadily cover more ground ..

Good going Gilligan, might
Good going Gilligan, might give the sound a shot soon. Went out of Mindarie again on Saturday morning for high tide and got 3 in less than 5 minutes, pretty much hauled them up one after the other. Headed out deeper after that when it got a bit quiet.
Did notice a boat still on its trailer which looked like it had been washed up onto the beach and half submerged in sand. Not sure if the owner tried to launch illegally at the dog beach or was like the mythbusters episode tonight that some people leave their trailers attached to the boat.
