Quobba in March
Submitted by EKUL on Tue, 2013-01-08 15:12
Hi All,
Have booked Quobba for March 18-23rd.
Have just purchased a new Tyrnos 30 and a gladiator LBG 2.4m 15-24kg rod.
Will be geared up with plenty of steel trace and balloons. (lots of lures too)
Any tips you can throw this way would be nice!
Wind in march? where to spin? bottom bouncing off the stones?
Cheers
Luke

macks
if your mainly wanting to balloon for macks you may want to go a couple of months later, I was there at easter last year and cant recall seeing one caught. You can still target smaller pelagics on lures and the bottom dwellers are always there.
most people prefer metal lures at quobba as they are cheap but all lures will work there plenty of spots to explore

yep
probably a good idea if you want to balloon or chase spaniards on spin. Metal slices around 85g retrieved as fast as possible.
dont forget to pray for good weather

mackeral whisperer
Hey Jorie I am not the mackeral whisperer lol but considering John F has been getting them metro (probably behind rotto) then you should be seeing them in Jurien for sure. with the water temps off ocean reef the fiush cant be far away.
