Need A Hand
Hi guys i know this is getting way to common, but i am hoping to take my boat out for a run this wknd whether its saturday or sunday.
i have only been out to the three mile reef and the little island out the front of hillarys in our old family boat,
ive spat it and thought i cant just keep catching herring all my life and brought a 7m Koolyn Craft and put a brand new 175 suzi on it which is capable of much bigger adventures and deeper water
I am not asking for exact spots as I'm sure they are well guarded but I dont usually get to go out much to float around and find them, so any help will be muchly aprecciated.
Thanks in advance if you are able to help me out.

Hundreds of spots along 3
Hundreds of spots along 3 mile. Read your charts, look for contour lines, then use your sounder to find a good lump with fish, then anchor, berley, and wait. Get there before sun up for your best chance on snapper.
Good luck!

Go an extra 30 minute steam
Go an extra 30 minute steam out to direction bank. You should only just be able to see land. Really good ground all around there and you will get anything from baldies, dhuies, black ass, kgs.
never come home empty handed

Id be pullin some lures or
Id be pullin some lures or live bait around the 3 mile, seems to be more northern pelagics around atm. My mate showed me some cool footage of his of big trevs, macks and tuna on a camera attached to his down rigger weight, not far offshore. If you find yourself anchored, a livey or good bait out the back under a balloon would be my priority

In a boat that size I wouldn't stay in close . Head out , way out , loose sight of land and then some out. You will be surprised at the amount of company you will have around you and the fish are bigger and better.
I loose it seeing crew in big boats in close when they have the rigs to go where the good stuff live...

Im still finding my feet out
Im still finding my feet out wide too being new to the offshore scene. Ive been out on direction bank a few times on a boat far smaller than yours now and prob best to start with more obvious spots/depth changes from your charts as tonking around trying to find lumps can be time consuming. Ive always come back with a nice feed too! Still havent pulled in any redonkulous dhu's yet!
