 are you using them for

are you using them for tailor? heres a tip - the treble on the end causes a lot of damage to small/undersized and undesirable fish.... and even to larger fish, it takes a b it of surgery to get the hooks out, hence why i stick to standard gangs - and actually have m0ore success.

Angler's Spot in Willetton

Angler's Spot in Willetton sells them pre-made with the stinger.

Like Leemo said, they do trash the mouths of smaller fish though.

Make your own

I make up my gangs from boxes of tarpons. It's way cheaper and some of the pre-made gangs are not that crash hot really. Forget about the treble mate. Guys above are spot on. I use a smaller tarpon at the end. If I rig up 5/0 tarpons I use a 4/0 or a 3/0 as the end hook.

Bulk Tarpons for gangs

Sun, 2012-05-20 11:09

We stock the pre-made gangs with trebles but as mentioned they do damage fish.

We sell the bulk boxes of tarpon (100 per box) and to gang them up is easy. This makes the over all price very cheap and you can do up a few three and four gangs to suit the size of the mulie including what Vince said ie smaller one at the tail end.

Cutting off the tail will let the oily smell out and with the last hook near the cut off tail your hook up rate is good.
