Good day. Do you guys recon it is posible to launch a 4.5m tinny from bundegi boat ramp with a Toyota Rav4. It does not have 4x4 but it does have Awd. Advice will be apreciated.

Retrieval when its windy is a different story...
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Cheers chaps. I was a little concerned that the Rav will make it up a steap and slippery ramp with boat in tow.

Retrieval is bit of a worry when windy
A Westerly wind will push your boat under the jetty. Keep your wits about you and it should be OK.

Westerly?
A westerly will push your boat away from you at Bundegi and under you at Tantabiddi ramp.

Bundegi
Looks beautiful and pleasant on a good day. A rough day is a different story.
We lost a boat last April during retieval in horrible southerly winds. I have never seen the power of the ocean as strong as that day. The trailer was physically pushed to nearly 90 degrees to the car within half a minute by the waves.
Hull was constantly smashed onto the rollers during a 1 hr retrieval. Result: a hole the size of a fist through the glass hull.
NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!!

Hamelin bay
If you reckon Bundegi is the worst ramp you've seen, then take a look at Hamelin bays ramp round Easter or any public holiday weekend when there is a swell running. It can be better than Funniest Home Videos and downright dangerous at the same time, that is a reason why most residents of the caravan park come and sit on the wall to watch, laugh or give medical assistance.

Couldn't agree more
Hamelin is a death trap in the wrong conditions. Not enough respect payed to the ocean by some boaties.

Ive seen that ramp with a stiff northerly and it was bloody dangerous. 2 and 3 foot waves breaking onto the ramp. Launch if its calm but if the wind is up I would retrieve at the Marina even if it is another 10 k's. far better than serious damage or injury.
