Biggest fishing spend in ONE day

After watching El Syd's post I thought wow, that if bought in a day would be a cringe worthy spend.

The most I have blinged out in one day would be about $2000.

Not tallying but  a StellaSW 10K armed with a Samuria Jig10, Verivas braid and about 10jigs/lures in the bling catecory adds up. (Birthday present and some extra $$$ thrown in)

Also new to Mandurah again (all my old Southwest rods either injured, lost or just plain smashed up here because I utterly love going smaller than wise) and a Sumuria, 2 Sickies (SicStixs), a Sustain and 2 Stradics to match, aswell as the usual extra's add up.

But then I am one lucky and happy camper, as the Mrs loves fishing as much if not more than me. Might then have to split this as its not all for me, but the Stella combo is.

Mon, 2013-06-24 08:57

A couple of years ago walked it a boat  yard and put $60,000 cash on the counter for a boat the guy was a bit pissed have to count this out by hand.

The next year did a trip to the Anderman's 3 new rods lots of terminal, tiagra 30, 50 torsa 30,saltiga 5000,stella 20,000,line,I think that was just over $3000

But these days the wife keeps a fairly tight rein as she see's all the toys I have in my study and shed already.

I think like browndog below it was posted up to appease the Mrs. Those reels alone is more than $3k.

If we are not counting boats

Mon, 2013-06-24 09:36

If we are not counting boats then about $1400 in a day on lures & a couple of rods. If we were to count boats paid for in cash then $4200 on a tinny a few years back. Off to blow another $700 tommorow on a aerowave composite beach rod, a stradic or saragosa, some braid & a swag.

Wow

Mon, 2013-06-24 11:25

I wont say more. But I never bothered with previous hobbies. Entering a Rally event was about $4000 a pop, with new this, new that etc.

Miss it but fishing is more peaceful.

Which lures are $400 out of

Mon, 2013-06-24 13:27

Which lures are $400 out of interest? An Abalone custom one or something?

Better hope there are not hungry makkies around, would suck to have a few of those snipped off.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Final decision will be made

Mon, 2013-06-24 11:27

Final decision will be made tommorow when I hang both reels under the rod but I'm 99% sure I'll be coming home with the stradic 5000fj.
