Where to get a TM260 & running dual transducers
After finding the short comings of my Furuno GP7000F chartplotter I'm considering investing in a HDS 7 or 9 touch with an airmar TM260 1kw transducer.
Whitworths is my normal shop of choice for everything, but they dont seem to stock the TM260 anymore. So question wise I ask;
1) Wheres the best place to get one in perth (with the lowrance plug) - I'm open to postage as a second option but would want it all installed and on water before our labour day weekend trip to Jurien
2) I'd be keen to keep the Furuno unit with the P66 transducer - Is this likely to cause any issues running at the same time as the TM260? I'd be keen to not leave extra screw holes in the hull and mount the TM260 on the port side leaving P66 on the starboard side.
3) Anyone know if out of the box the HDS 7 touch comes with the structure scan transducer?

You can get a adaptor to go
You can get a adaptor to go from the furuno 10 pin to any sounder. A mate just got one for a raymarine not sure where from. I got my new tranys from maritime marine electrics in Freo but I'm sure Taylor marine could point you in the right direction
Any one free to help me pull my drum lines tomorrow?

I think you will just run
I think you will just run into the shortcomings of the lowrance personally.
Why not add in a FCV-585 or 587?

On structyure scan comment below;
I have the Lowrange/Simrad HD structure scan and it works very well in our ocean here.
It clearly shows in 3D what the bottom is like over a sidescan area of about 20 meters and works well till about 45mtrs deep which is off great help when sussing out a spot
I can overlay the Downscan on my Broadband sonar and then detail is amazing even more so when you zoom in on detail.

No, but I'm yet to go on a boat with a Lowrance setup that would really make me want one over a Furuno. I'm not as one-eyed as an owner.

Glastro
I'm keen to see some pics of the simrad showing different bottom types e.g - soft coral / hard bottom
Not the obvious stand out lumps
Very interested to see how the unit goes picking up ground.
Could you post up a few pics please
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Try Taylor Marine
Tailer Marine probably your best bet. They should be able to fit it for you as well, you just get the adaptor plug as reece said to suit.
I got mine from over seas paid heaps less than in perth fitted it myself there not hard to do, But as your on a time frame the first option probably be best.
You wont have any issue's running both tranducers at same time i've got p66 running as well no problem mounted other side.
And just one other point before you bye the structure scan just do your home work on them from what i have herd from people that got them, there not all what there cracked up to be. If you read about them fresh water and river style fishing all good if thats what your up to. i dont think there all that great in the ocean other people here may say different and no i dont have one so my experience is here say.
