The weekend away to diving paradise.

Me and a few mates did a weekend trip away to a very remote south coast beach for some fishing for salmon and sharks and got a few dives in to.

We went to The far headland at the beach with a big swim around 1.5km to the deep water past the sand where the reef and the fish are. The currents where strong on the way back with a very tiring swim even with free diving fins. These 2 days dives made me realize how bad I need a go pro!!

In the time we where in the water we spotted over 100 queenies, 40-50 grouper ranging from 8kg through to some well over 30kg!!, skippy that where easily 5kg+ that could of been classed as small GT's, big harlequin fish and just reef fish in general everywhere!!! It's the sort of place you can tell very few people have ever been to!!. We shot enough for a feed and left the rest for when we come back next time. I also got my pb grouper of around 13kg on spear and some nice queenys well over 70cm.

I have some monster shark photos that we got from the weekend effort but once I've sorted through it all and finished cleaning the sand out of everything I'll throw them up to.

Yeah about that each way and the way back the last 300m is all into the current so very very tiring that's for sure!! I like queenies mostly because I've never eaten that many of them before but all my family likes them so I always get a few if I get the chance.

Must have been a easy night the one before. Looks like Emu point boat pens behind you. How far east of town did ya travel?

Yeah we kept all the fish

Yeah we kept all the fish whole in one esky with 25kg of ice we took with us so some of the photos came from emu point.  We didn't take any alcahol this time because we where on a mission to get some big sharks and find some new diving spots. I was a long way east of town with a very big 4x4 into the beach and a few risky moments to get to the headland at the end of the beach so not your usual day trip spot that's for sure.
