Mate you have a life time to perfect it. Any river is capable of carching trout . there are sites that can tell which SW rivers hold trout and redfin. It can be relaxing or a nightmare. small rivers in the darling scarp hold nice size trout. practice your casting at home as it will reduce the frustration you are going to experience at the river or lake. Pemberton is a good place for beginners as the rivers and the lake in town are stocked heavely. There has been some big brown trout caught there, One brown at 9:5 pound was the record from the warren river. This time of year moons crossing is usaully a hot spot as the trout are going up stream to spawn or are coming back from spawning. There is a pool jus above a place called toms crossing where i had a follow from a brown that i estimated at 6 pounds. I never fished around nannup but have done the warren river, waroona dam and fished drakesbrook.
the blackwood river is another place they get trout but relauctantly i have not fished the either. Best of luck and remeber 10 oclock and 2 oclock are you rod tip positions to get you line out there. Best of luck.

Rivers
Rivers are flowing pretty quick still down this way atm and pretty dirty still (another 20mm dropped on Saturday) And you may struggle with access into some tracks and limited bank.Havnt fished that part of the Blackwood but I would head out the brockman hwy and a few tracks to the right will take you to the river

If you in the midland area, go into the prospejctors patch it's on the main drag. They have an extensive range of wet and dry flies as well other fly gear.
