Tailor around Point Peron/Rocko?

Gday all,

Was visiting someone in rocko today so decided to go have a cast for Tailor at Point Peron early this morning. Arrived about 6.15, cast metals, poppers, bluescode etc for over an hour from as many spots as possible (was low tide so was a bit limited by the fringing reef). Not a touch. Same deal about 2 weeks ago when we went out in the hail like fools. Both times were not 'planned' around tides/times etc, just opportunity to fish.

It ticks all the right boxes for Tailor, and is a very fishy looking area, so just wondering if anyone else has caught some there or nearby?

Some spots look destined to

Some spots look destined to be hot spots but if it doesnt hold food, doesnt hold fish. I reckon some spits may just have a certain current flow or something and the bait fish just dont hold there, but may do other times of the year. Like targeting them from a boat, if theyre not there, move on

Well there goes my theory! Its a good day out over there, take the goggle n snorkel, look at some little penguins waddle around (missus loses her sh*t haha). You're not allowed a gidgee at the back of the island are you?

I'm not sure about gidgee out there. We jumped in one of the bays last year for a cool down after a fish and the sound of crays crackling underwater was almost deafening. It is a good day out there and theres always dolphins hanging around in between point peron and garden island

Got two nice fat tailor, then came back inside to get some squid. The tailor are still full of roe.
