Surf shark rod.

Looking at gettin in to some land based sharks, need some rod advice. I'll be running a Salina 16000 bait feeder, 50lb braid with 150m top shot mono for slide baits. Unsure of what rod length/ weight. I'm thinking 12' 24kg rod will probably kill me, so do I go 12' 10-15kg or 10' 15-24kg or something else??? Any advice would be appreciated.

if your chasing big sharks
if your chasing big sharks lb the shorter the better the leaverage you get fron smaller rods will help you with a big fight.. if you can 7-9foot rods would be better but depends on the shark your chasing we pulled a heap of 5-6 foot hammer head sharks and a big 8 foot tiger shark on similar reel as yours 50lb braid and 12ft 10-15 kg rod and it was fine for them!!

if your sliding baits you
if your sliding baits you probably want something longer to launch with. Have a search mate, heaps of good discussions on here on the same topic.

Heavy
Hi mate,
If your chasing a rod thats going to be long enough to punch out heavy sinkers for slide baiting and handle sharks, Come in and check out the Pflueger Crank 12' 2pce heavy. Rated line class of 30-50lb. I have been using this rod to push out 8oz grapnel sinkers and big baits and it does it very convincingly. Im running 30lb mono on it though 50lb braid would run over this beast of a rod no drama.
Cheers
