Good luck on the squid hunt,
Good luck on the squid hunt, i tried early morning and this afternoon for no result in the kayak around Rockingham,,around July i have no trouble gertting my limit.
My tip would be try as early in the morning as you can and late in the afternoon.

Good ground...
...all along the shoreline in that area. Never squidded there myself but you can quite clearly see the mixture of sand and weed all within casting distance. As Shorty has said, probably not the best time of the year for it right now, although you may have better luck on an overcast day.

I would head down to Pengo's
I would head down to Pengo's at the Pengin Island jetty, cast out the glow squid jigs if you can find them ( Eric at West Coast Tackle as them ), they seem to be working, not alot Squid about the place, Squid seem to be attracted to bright colours and bright lights, try using a live fish on a squid jig, see if that works

If your serious about squid
If your serious about squid driftings the way to go, saveing up for a cheap kayak or canoe could be the way to go,,you can cover a lot more ground.
