Rumoured date for Furuno CHIRP release: Feb 14
Submitted by till on Wed, 2013-01-30 07:02
Ok, so it's just a rumour, but that is the date for the Miami Boat Show and a few people are suggesting that Furuno release their offering then.
Fingers crossed!
Of course, if you know more than me, feel free to spill the beans ;)

CHIRP is a patented software
CHIRP is a patented software program not owned by Furuno and therefore they use it under licence intergrating it with their processing units.

Ahoy! It's Captain
Ahoy! It's Captain Obvious!
The product release is not the unveiling of CHIRP, its the unveiling of Furuno's CHIRP offering, AS TITLED.
Why are you such an obtuse moron?

One of your posts , dont throw stones in glass houses Gastro
Keep on sending out bait, girls
$600 and you see that sidescan on your downscan, out wide?
You need to see Wangler, he sees it for free and Marble can do it in his bathtub looking at his collection of floating duckies with soap in his glassy eye.
You lot crack me up!

Tell me something Gastro do you even know how a sounder distinguishes a fish in the water column ?,and why do you think Furuno hasn't brought out its CHIRP system as yet ?
You seem to come across as being a GURU on marine electronics, but I haven't seen allot of Product ( Fish ) in any of your posts.
It seems to me you spend more time on the Internet Trying to Learn which are the best Electronics to use to show you the Structure on the sea floor, than spending time on the water Catching Fish, In stead of learning about electronics maybe you should spend some time learning what the electronics are showing you.
You should learn that not everyone has the Coin to go for a full Chirp setup or Structure Scan and when it still hasn't been proved to be the best Tool for finding Fish as yet, It is very hard to go past a Furuno 585/587 with a 1 kw Xducer for finding Product.

585 for sale ;) Looks pretty
585 for sale ;) Looks pretty impressive and I'm sure Furuno will bring out something fairly polished. Personally I'd be waiting a couple of years for them to refine the process, iron out bugs etc. Saying that I'm loving my 585 awesome display and still fiddling and learning.....I guess that's part of the fun.
