ROV Inspection along Mindarie

So we finally got one our ROV's into the water around the Mindarie Rockwall yesterday. And what did we see?. Not a whole lot unfortunatly.

We inspected about 80m of the outer side wall but came up empty. The footage can be viewed HERE for those interested.

I think the best bet would be to burly up for a while first and then send in the ROV. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

Timing is ..........................everything

We do a bit of free diving for occys around Perth , usually in the middle of the day, and to be honest

in many , many dives in areas like you filmed in, we have seen sweet f, all.

But I did go for a crab snorkle last year really early one morning , a little bit after light , and the

difference was amazing , creatures everwhere, deff more fish life , all charging around looking for somewhere to hide for the day.

The shallows are more affected buy heat , light etc, than in the deeper water, so maybe a 4.30am film or a 6.30pm film in the same area?

Good on you for giving it a go, cheers.

Great effort. I think filming up around the tip of the south wall might come up with some more life tho personally. When i used to fish there we always seemed to catch fish, or coul feel crabs eating our baits! more so on the inside when it's a little rough.

Even tho you didn't see much , it's still a great share. I jump in the water around there quite a bit, and its a rare day when you catch somthing good on film .

Can't wait for more from you guy's , please keep posting reports on your progress .

Cheers Grant . .

Outer Reef ROV Inspection

Sat, 2013-11-16 16:48

So after discussions with Michael from Western Blue Dive Charters we have organised ourselfs a ride out to the outer reefs.

Should make for some good filming and add another location to our Sea Whats Below pages.

We should hopefully have the video uploaded by Wed arvo.

Cheers
