Recreational Cray Potting

Thinking about giving the rec cray potting thing a go over the Xmas holidays, how serious does one need to be to get a feed and not have crays knocked off by others etc.

What efforts do you go to successfully recreational pot for crays? Is it worth doing or should I just hook up my boat with some keen divers?

my experience, the further you travel the better chance of retaining your pots and the crays in them.

Have had bumper seasons in the past at rotto with pots, however getting over to get them twice a week is challenging, especially when one trip is after work during the week, and usually pretty windy... even in a 26ft boat its not all that much fun!

Now im NOR, am considering a few weeks with pots again, however im thinking Mindarie or OR

Cheers Bodie,

I like the idea of getting a feed but I don't know if its worth the hassle. Might be cheaper to buy crays! LOL

After Xmas the whites would have gone deep anyway. It Would be cheaper and more fun to grab a loop and snorkel for them in the shallows
