NOR newbie

Hey all,

Have been floating around on the forums for the last week or so and thought i'd sign up and say G'day!

As the topic says im a newbie and trying to find my way around and learn as much as i can about fishing and general boating in the future.

I recently got my RST and am currently in the market for a boat around the 15-20k mark. I was originally looking at fibreglass hulls (fraser, carribean etc) but after some thought and lack of boat handling experience i am thinking it may be a smarter choice to go for an ali hull (bonito/trailcraft) to try and save some $$$ on possible hull repairs! If anybody is looking to pass on there pride and joy and around this price range please pass on the details and i will be keen to have a look! (looking for anything between 16-20 foot).

I am currently looking at a 1996 bonito 170 with a 70hp johnson on the back. Has anybody had one of these before? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Brendo

Welcome Brendo,

Definately worth asking for a deckie spot at some point in time, just say when your available and that you will chip in for costs etc and you can learn lots from experienced skippers.  Some really good boats out there for that sort of money, you should be having a good time very soon!

Any questions regarding the site, just ask Andy Mac, Tim, Colin Hay or myself and we will try help out where possible.

Cheers,

Adam

Another NOR team member, excellent. Looks like we may have a few more starters for next year's NOR v SOR annual fishing comp.

Cheers

I am, a landlubber (not by choice but by finances) so I can't help you much with boating info but there are some great people here with great info who will point you in the right direction.
