depends what you are chasing,
depends what you are chasing, a feed or some fun, picked up a nice queenie form the town jetty on wednesday evening that would have been close to the meter mark, plenty of good landbased spots just need to know how to fish particular spots in relation to the tides
Cheers Yewie

got the queenie on a light
got the queenie on a light baitcaster, 15lb braid and a squidgie slickrig
the tides arent the best for fishing the jetty for queenies and trevally at the moment but you never know, have been there on occasions where people had been there for hours not catching anything, i rock up with the plastics and manage to get into the queenies and trevally.
you living up here or just visiting?

only really fish at night off
only really fish at night off the jetty for the jew, this is done on the bigger tides, the jew suffer baratrauma pretty bad and they like wrapping around the pylons so as a result we fish handlines up to 300lb (if you hook one on rod and give it heaps but it still wraps you around a pylon and you loose it, the fish is pretty much just going to die), having said that i have landed them off the jetty on rod and reel.

just about to head down the coast for a barra fish, might head down to the jetty tonight tho for a look and get some bait for the freezer (plenty of baitfish around at the moment), a couple of mates might be heading down there tonight.

Cowboys
Jetty was busy last night. Lots of 'cowboys' there with no idea on what they were doing. Maganged to stay away from them. Got 2 small sharks on the handline and had a very nice run on the baitrunner. Alas, twas a shark, bit through my leader.
Thinking should I go again tonight? A good tide and not too late.
I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Lets go fishing!
