Fishing & boat licences query
Submitted by xtont on Sun, 2012-12-23 11:15
I'm moving to Busselton from Darwin in Febuary. I've heard that I'll need to get licenced! Only need trailer rego in NT. What types and prices please. I have 4.6m dinghy, fan of cast netting, don't like crabs. Cheers Kristo's one-man army.

Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.

You will still need a WA
You will still need a WA Recreational Skippers Ticket when you are here though. Even professional boaties with Coxswains and Master Class tickets still need a Rec Skippers Ticket for when they are Recreationally boating. You might find though with you QLD ticket they will just make you pay for the WA one, or just do the theory test maybe? Dont know if they will make you do the whole course practical and theory. Other than the cost of doing the course though(around $200ish) the course itself is easy to pass of you have to do it, and in alot of respects is a joke, depending on who you do the course through.

Throw net
You may have a bit of trouble with the throw net if you are coming down the west coast route, have heard rumours that they don't let you bring them south because of the potential to bring cane toad eggs attatched to the mesh. [ or could be the inspectors needed new nets]
