Very much salt. The Peel Inlet is a completely different place to the stinkhole I remember as a kid

Novara. Just turn at the boat ramp sign just after the Novara Deli (good for pies and snacks- all the tradies line up there in the mornings as I drive by to work). Then as you see the boat ramp head a little right. You will see the sand patches among weed starting just north of the boat channel, which you will clearly see as a dark line from the jetty heading into the Estuary. Wade out about just below knee deep and blast away. On a calm day you will see them and then you can sight cast rather than blind casting (Polarised a must). Try to miss them by about 6ft with the lure or they spook. However at about 6 ft they seem to "hear" the splash, must think it is something jumping and turn and chase that area. Pause, jerk, reel line tight (which is like a pause), jerk etc. Small jerks works aswell as larger ones. If they turn away after looking at the lure/retrieve try something different, as I find some action works one day, others another. If you have tried a few with "loss of interest" from the fish change lure colour/type.

No swivel, mainline onto a longish leader of (best) flouro to allow for re-ties a few times. Leader as light as possible.

Have fun. Havent had a chance yet this year but as it is warming up, they are sure to be there.
