I have a 20' kingcraft glass boat (formerly pacemaker so I'm told) i have 32 rollers i think with no keel rollers

and the only thing stopping me from driving on was my 115hp johno 2 stroke, could only get

half way but with the new suzi 140 it should be a breeze I'll try and find some pics for you

definetly get a drive on/ off trailer with rollers because they are so convienient and easy to use.

I've got a john pappas trailer which is customly made which is perfect and would suit your use.

Go on the john pappas trailer website when you have time

 I`ve had trailers with

I`ve had trailers with rollers and find skids much better . The boat we have now(24 foot c/c) is heaps easier to launch and retrieve on a skid trailer than my old rig(18 foot c/c) on a multiroller trailer. http://www.duralitetrailers.com.au/trailers.shtml is where we got ours, heard really good things about Ace trailers as well.

Alfred's Boston Whaler is

Alfred's Boston Whaler is drive-on/off with bunks, its great.

If your boat doesn't need, or shouldn't have keel support then don't be afraid of bunks.

Keep in mind that the polyethylene decking you can buy from bunnings is great for skids and very cheap.

Papas multi roller

Wed, 2011-12-28 13:46

We have a papas multi roller trailer which I love . My missus can push the baron sportsman off with one hand and when it comes to retrieving , anything less than 90 degrees will straighten itself out .

bunks seem easy for me

Wed, 2011-12-28 14:16

ive got blue plastic skids on my trailer (bunks) and it's really easy to use. my boats a 23ft f/glass, twin eng. i can launch/retrieve by myself no probs and it's my 1st boat so i'm not that experienced. When retrieving (after fishing) i just back the trailer in till the skids are submerged then slowly drive the boat up trailer till it reaches the winch post/roller (on trailer) keep the throttle on to hold it there in position, then i lean over front of boat and hook the winch cable and chain on. once its hooked on and iv'e tensioned the winch (bit of a stretch on the arms) i turn motors off and trim them up, climb onto the back of my ute and then drive the car out. bunks seem like a much more simple design than having lots of rollers. dont take my word for it though as iv'e never had a roller trailer to compare it with

Made me count the bloddy

Wed, 2011-12-28 20:02

Made me count the bloddy rollers on mine.

21ft fibreglass on 52 rollers trailer only 2 front keel rollers.

I presume skidds could rub the gelcoat off over time and when it is a heavy boat.

If your after steel

Wed, 2011-12-28 20:40

if your after a steel one to keep for a while then I beam cant be beaten.

You can see ANY corrosion if its there and as galvanising is sacrificial, it will eventually corrode internally on a box type.
