Submitted by joycey on Sun, 2014-07-20 21:39
Hi guys,
Just after bit of advice in regards to leader for metro demersal jigging and soft plastic fishing.
Will be using 40lb and just wondering what brand flourocarbon people prefer.
Cheers,
Joycey

I personally use the black
I personally use the black magic stuff and haven't had a problem... I think you'll find that gets some votes and another one that seems to be quite popular is the jinkai leader... (I'm pretty sure it's jinkai anyway)

Jinkai was good when you
Jinkai was good when you could get it for $15, now I rarely see it under 22. + the leader hasn't changed in forever. I think there are better options on the market now.

Jinkai seems to be too soft
Jinkai seems to be too soft for me, it kinks really easily and your rig is never the same

Black magic
Stiffer, doesnt distort as Jinkai can ge prone to. Not as $$$ as some like Varivas etc. But each type of fishing might need a change in leader. I dont find Black magic as good for BBing where unlike mentioned above I do want a more soft line to allow more natural presentation of bait.

Cheers for advice so far,
I have black magic flourocarbon but seems very stiff for plastics / jigging, though appears tough.
Am looking for a more supple flourocarbon yet still as tough as the black magic

Sorry
But he's talking about the fluorocarbon.
The 'supple' and 'tough' are the 2 different styles of monofilament Black Magic make

Yo-Zuri
Hey Joycey
We use alot of the Yo-Zuri H.d Carbon Fluorocarbon in all sizes.
If you are using 40LB main line we suggest you use anything between 40-60lb, depending on what structure your fishing.
Flurocarbon leader is deffinitley the way to go with using arificals.
Feel free to send us a PM or pop into the store for more info.
Thanks
