Ok I'm going to be the one to say it but fireline is very old tech and I'm surprised people still use it ,its very thick for its breaking strain and very stiff/wirey .
I'm not sure were your located but any good tackle shop will have a huge range of quality braids in various colours and breaking strains to suit your budget..
yea mate, went to steep point with some friends that fish up there 2 to 3 times a year, they do alot of bottom bouncing and swear by it over normal braid, seems to be alot more abrasion resistent over normal braid and breaks of easier when you snagup good, also the fish count at the end of the day between them and us using mono was huge!, mainly fishing the cliffs up there.
BCF sell the big spools, but damn pricey. I like the fireline for its abrasion resistance but castability isnt as good as normal braid. Ive been using Stren fused dyneema and its great and also cheaper than fireline. Also great visibilty in lowlight conditions so its great for beach fishin the new moon. Give it a spin.
