Where to fish in karratha?

Hi, my mate and I are heading to karratha next Thursday fishing, we have a 22 foot  boat awaiting us. There is one problem, we don't know the area. If anyone could help us out of areas to bottom bounce would be much appreciated! Cheers

Not likely to get too many

Not likely to get too many spots thrown at you..... bottom bouncing spots are well guarded.

If you have a gps with maps, just look for contour lines or patches where the depth vaires a bit.

Another option for newcomers is to fish the underwater gas pipeline.  The pipe around the Archipelago has rocks piled on it which has created a massive artificial reef.  There are still good fish to be caught on the pipeline, but often the sharks are present to steal your trout!

If you want mackeral, go to "The Patch" and look for the birds diving the schools

try the pipeline for trout easy to find with your sounder as pale ale said try the inner and outer patch sea bouy is always worth a drop if your chasing bill fish troll around the bulkys anchored on the outer harbor Hauy island is worth a try from ktown back beach but watch the tides as you can get caught coming home if you need a map I can loan you 1 I am in rocky and can mark you some spots

Yeah cheers lads, I will prob fish as wide as possible, been looking on my mates Simrad broadbnd plotter and pretty much won't be fishing anything less than 40 m. Found good shit in 50s which is coral. Na I would never expect spots. Wats the go for baits? And yeah on the map would be good.

chasing reds

if you going to chase red emps you need to head out past the bulkys and find rubble on you sounder also need min of 40 meters you can get them on the pipeline but they will be undersize,, baits squid , fresh cut fillets, and livies could give you the best ever bait for the N/W but would need to PM it to you as it not really a kosher bait and might upset some people if you want the map happy to loan it to you don't want to over load you with info but this time of the year you should be able to get a good feed of blue mannas of the k town back beach but you need 8 m of rope on you nets try airport creek and the nickol river for muddys if you can get into the nickol there is a sand/rock bar on the right hand side going in sit behind it on an out going tide and feed out some livies for barra, another good spot for jacks and estuary cod if you find the weather turns bad and you don't want to travel far is the pond zero intake sorry all you boys in K town for giving away some secrets but the metro boys have helped me out big time since I have been down here

Like said before, fish the pipeline out wide. Do what I call "hit and run" find some fish have a drop and catch a couple then move  a km up and do it again and just keep on the move. We call it the shark line not the pipe line lol. That's ya best bet if you don't know the area. And 45m+

if you want to fish deep, head north and sound around mate, if the day is nice you'll see people out there so you'll get an idea of where to look.

Yeah cheers lad for all the info, pretty much  know from fishing exmouth and coral bay that u need to fish rubble ground and deepish. I have used small emperor wings and fresh fillets. Got fresh squid and whiting to start my journey and will catch the rest! I will be fishing at least 20 miles plus wen weather permits as I know that the areas people don't fish are best. So further the better
