I've got the 10ft daiwa
I've got the 10ft daiwa sensor surf and I reckon it's a great all purpose beach rod. Good for baitcasting mulies/gardies for tailor, handles 50 - 60g lures no worries while still good for soaking a bait. The only thing is it can get a bit sloppy when casting bigger baits.. I've also got a 16ft sensor surf for those bigger baits.. Might try slide baiting next time I get a chance to go out.
However, in plugging the daiwa's, I recently fished alongside a guy who had the saltiga combo (think it was a 12ft) and it was head and shoulders above the daiwa. I guess you get what you pay for.. His combo was worth around $1,200 where as mine was about $450. But at the end of the day, we both caught good fish and there's nothing wrong with the daiwa. Just depends on how much you want to spend...

ballistic
Jimmy the balistic matches up with the saltiga surf perefectly(designed for this), it hcomes with removable counterweights in the butt remove these and it is one lightweight stump puller. Unfortunately it is pretty expensive and more aimed and heavy bait/sinker throwing. It can be used as spin or overhead but the reel seat it high making it hard to use as an overhead IMO. I am currently sourcing additional reel seat uptions so I can use mine as high mount spin/ low mount spin and high mount overhead/ lowmount overhead. not many rods are that versatile. very rare to see one for sale 2nd hand also which probably says something about the rod.
I also have the 13ft and 10ft sensor surfs which are fantastic rods. The 13ft is a great beach fishing rod although it wont cast as heavy weight as the ballistic but up to 60z is no problem so it depends what your looking for. the 10ft is a fair bit lighter and I have found mine to be a fantastic popping rod which I matched with a daiwa windcast, was the undoing of plenty of big metro tailor over winter. I havent ever tried the saltiga reel on my sensor surf but was planning to shortly.
You wont be dissapointed with the reel you purchased either, expensive but well worth it
