Hi all, thanks do much for all the input on the lowrance HDS 5 question I asked a few weeks ago..it was very informative. I am hoping to head out to the Gemini Wreck this week. Can anyone please give me some advice on where to go around this wreck? North south on this wreck? I know it's on direction bank but as I am a newbie at boating, I am not sure, any advice would be most greatful... Happy fishing

Wreck
The Wreck is not on Direction Bank. It is only approx 5nm west of the Alkimos.
Fairly flat/sandy bottom all around it. Best bet is to anchor up wind and berley to bring fish around. If you anchor over the wreck or try jigging on it you will get busted of on the wreck every time.

gemini isn't on direction
it's on 30 meter line NW ish mindarie
it'll be on your charts.
just sound around it when you get there. you'll soon see whats where.
a few were anchored around it the other day in windy conditions (don't drop your anchor on it though)
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

I have dived it a couple of times. Its a very interesting study in fish habitat because its so artifical, but all the different fish get into their own habitats.
It does have a bit of lead on it, but never found a jig yet. It sees a lot of divers though, a few dive schools use it for their deep dive.
Its seldom got crayfish becayse there are only one or two places for them to hide out and its dived so often.

Haha - I was only reading comment on a dive forum last night that recommended taking a pair of cutters and a big bag for the tackle collection

Wow I was way off where it is, will have to check my gps.. Is it worth going there or are the better wrecks or drop offs to get some decent fish , anywhere not to far from there?
