shark mate by the look of those drag marks in the first photo can i ask where mate possible bull shark really keen on gettin one of them buggers out the swan
looks like the 2nd pic you took, not exactly sure whats the cause but dirty water is likely one of them.... seen a few pics lately of bream caught with red spots
thats redspot, pretty rife in the canning atm and slowley making its way into the swan!, best not to eat these fish, they do heel up from what i have seen, but its best to put them on ice, fisheries are always looking for fresh samples.
not sure if theres a specific season for bull shark breedin but that could answer a few questons if it is. there was also a photo in the paper bout 2-3 weeks ago of a bream bout 30cm bitten in half round burswood
this is redspot like i said earlier, there is shit loads of bream like this, its a skin eating disease that goes feral, i myself have seen a crap load of this bream fishing, also caught a heap with scars that have healed up.
Dolphins do frequent that area.......I put them back straight after the pics, atleast they were feeding so a good chance of healing up....felt very bad for them though :( poor things..
some pics here, don't look as gnarly as the original bream but pretty similar ey.
"Previous outbreaks of EUS (red spot) have been associated with acid water run-off, particularly after heavy rain following a prolonged a dry spell as well as other factors such as prolonged cold temperatures..."
Sounds vaguely similar to conditions recently. Also says you shouldn't return fish with such sores.
Here's a pic from another forum which apparently is a healed over red spot sore
Find it strange that all the problem happens to occur on the same place on the fish. I live around the canning river and have also caught fish with wounds that have healed over also roughly in the same area of the fish.................weird.
I used to do a lot of breamin in the canning when i lived in wilson. Seen a lot of fish with the same problem in that area. Wouldnt have thought it was a bite wound as i reckon more than half the bream i caught there had it. Bazookeds got it right i think definately some sort of disease

2 summers ago I saw a bull shark under the pipeline, always been tempted to try there.
Also a mate who's a keen kayaker along the canning river says he sees a few in summer. I'd just get a bait out there and hope for the best.
