Shark bay spainish mackerel

This is my first post so hello and thanks to all for the info I have already got.I will be heading to shark bay in July and after reading some posts heard reports of spaniards being caught In eastern gulf.I was just wondering weather they are seasonal or caught all year round.Any info would be appreciated.

Yeh  we caught a couple of nice ones off the peron peninsula one year sending out balloons. heaps of tailor too_ this is about ten years ago though_ was june / july time

Yeah taking the boat.just was wondering weather to take any trolling gear. Was there last year did well fishin the bottom but love to get into some some spaniards. I know steep points good but got 4 kids under 9 years so don't go out that far. I will be there 8 to15

macks off cape peron but earlier in the year MAR/APR, we mainly fish off turtle bay, dampier reef but its a long haul for  kids especially if the weather turns.I have caught them at anchor while fishing for snapper ,lots of berley but it also brings in the noahs.

troll the chanels between the seagrass (its like a highway for fish) they can be seen on your gps or map and are about 8-10m deep from memory.
also using any sort of teaser improves catch rate.

i have also heard sanmar/garfish baits used up at point peron peninsula works well, never tried it though.

probably not any good for july but was up there last week and a bloke in the park had one bottom out 25kg scales with about a foot of tail still on the ground

berley trail, floated whiting head and the miracle......no wire!!

Extra deep diving pink chrome halco laser pros are the go.  got a 13.5 kg spanaird about 3 mile east ofmonkey mia about 4 weeks ago.  about 11m of water in the channel.  trolling at about 6.5 knots.

used to make about 800 - 1000/week fishing for mackeral with rods and bottom fishing with handlines what a horrible job that was (not)
