rod length for sp fishing

just wondering what the optimum rod length for soft placcys snapper and dhuie type stuff would be i would imagine around 6'6

is 7'0 getting too long to be comfortable to use

i wanted to do some light line stuff on a bit of a budget as i dont get out on a boat very often how about the daiwa aird combos? im looking at getting the 2500 aird with a 3000 spare spool as it will double when i target the big greenbacks this winter nailed a 6kg tailor on 15lb line last year would like to do it on 8 - 10 lb this year

cheers for your responses guys

Yeah, I couldnt decide

Yeah, I couldnt decide between a 7 or a 66 (daiwa tournament master s) and ended up with the 66 but I wish I got the 7 as it had a longer butt which would have been better when a biggun gets on but the short butt makes castin and jiggin placcies easy, balanced well with my reel. Id go the 7, not too long for a boat and abit more casting ability

This topic was covered awhile ago, most folks suggested 7ft & I've been looking ever since. Problem is, which rod to choose.

So many quality rods available.
