Quobba and Blow Holes

Hey guys,

I'm heading up to Blow Holes beach on Friday and am staying there for a week, will be with people who have been going up there for a long time and have a 'shack' on the beach which I believe is at the south end? Just wondering what the reports are like at the moment from anyone who has been fishing the area?! They have a boat which we will take at everyday, weather regarding though. I've heard that the beach is quite a calm bay as it is surrounded by a reef system, so wondering if there is any point throwing mulies off the beach at night for a bit of fun?

Thanks! Any comments much appreciated.

Only fished to the left of the shacks once and got snagged just about every cast.
If u got a 4b follow the tracks that run to the left of the shacks u will see a decent size rock sitting well out the water , start fishing a few hundred meters up and keeping walking left throwing lures on the light gear - have had some awesome sessions catching small (1-2kg)gt's , goldens , threadies , dart etc got a few 60 plus size tailor as well . The bait fisho's didn't do to well as there are lots of little peckers in there . We caught fish any time of the day , but an hour before sunset into dark was best . There are some good size sharks that pull in there at night if u for some fun .

Fished in front of the shacks there last year when everyone said there was nothing biting, caught some huge tailor. Only fished for about an hour before sunset and had more than we could handle.

Mate,

Take a good long rod, a small esky with a 6 pack, a comfy beach chair, fresh mullet fillet for bait, cast out about an hour before sunset, and enjoy the view...

Hopefully hook into a nice big spanglie for dinner!!!

Hey Doooma,

Staying a friends shack, Geoff Harris is his name. Yeah I've been told that you're a fair chance for a spanglie from the beach at night! I'm pretty sure the shack is either the last or second last one at the southern end, where I believe the ranger is situated?!
