Heh guys,
Bit of advice please
Want to try some anchored fishing around the five fathom bank out behind Garden Island.
Should I fish along the inside or outside of the bank and what sort of depths / features.
Was thinking of fishing the outer edge of the bank but unsure of depth that can anchor in comfortably?
Also is there any risks anchoring in this area with waves
Cheers for any tips.

try just of the back of the bank
plenty of good little lumps in 25/30 m best bet is to drag a couple of lures along the back edge till you find a little lump on your sounder ,plenty of mackies around that depth

Both sides and on it. Find
Both sides and on it. Find some good lumps on the sounder, anchor and burley.
I've found the ffb behind the north end of GI more fruitful than the south side
waves my stand up on big swell days - but ive never seen it being a fair weather fisherman.
anchoring is dependant on your rope length - make sure you have enough slack in case a big roller does come through. Its 20-25m deep off the edges so do you have 60m of rope?
