Plastics for Flatties

Hi All,

 

Just moved here from Northern Qld and was wondering whaqt kind of plastics to use for the river flatties?

I had alot of success up there with Gulp 3 inch minnow in banana prawn colour - -any thoughts?

zman 2.5 grubz are ace but as brayds says you just get pissed off with the blowies, try atomic shad 40's or the ecogear sx40 hardbody and you wontr go far wrong, maybe something a touch bigger for the big girls!

 the lastest fishing report in frudays west saysunder the lights at bicton baths after dark is fishing well for flathead and flounder, and the blowies wont be a problem after dark.

In some cases yes, i find fishing an incoming tide on the flats produces flatties and the occasional whiting(donw river) and also tailor early morning and around sunset. you should catch fish at anytime and on anytide if you stick to the right spots. my biggest ever flattie was caught midday and ive caught tailor right through the tide so i think alot of it is lure choice and spot on the river. Just watch out for the blowies!
