Works on 12 volt but not on 240 volt. Any suggestions.

Sounds like the power supply is knackered....is it under 5 years old? might be good for warranty claim.

same thing happened to mine last year. And has now happened to our 80lt waeco.
The engel was under warranty. took it to a service agent and it was fixed for the next day.
Not a big problem i think.

early or late models.
I've sold my 20yr old Engel, never missed a beat and now I have the latest model. So far it's working fine and uses less amps than the oldy.
Runs continually in the shed on 240.

Must have rooted the tranny or converter that converts 240vac to 12vdc, for that money you could just by a cheap converter off ebay to plug into 240 that puts out 12v and enough amps for the engel, prob cost less than a tenth of the repair
5 amps should be heaps, here you go, problem fixed...8 bucks delivered

Shuold be able to find an AU plug layin around for it and just chop the other plug off and solder one to suit the engel

Whats the issue with the gen set then ? Wrong Frequency ? Under voltage ? Over Voltage ? Fluctuating voltage? Or not regulated and got a spike ?
I would just buy a good battery and a good solar panel for the price and run it on 12v. Thats what i do when its at home !
cheep genset dont have a power output regulator ie when they starve for fuel and rev harder there power output sky rockets. distroying your 240v
cheers boomer
sine wave inverters do the damage which is the OLD saying, you get what you pay for in these cheep rs gen sets.
