It would be nice if it was as simple as changing the batteries.

The controllers say some really wierd shite when they are running low

Sounds more like an automatic

Sounds more like an automatic fault message indicating some other problem.

Is the controller hard-wired or remote ?

Did you replace the motor yourself ?

If so, check all connectons are correct etc

eg. if it detects that the water pump or some other component is not working or connected properly it will typically display a service message.

I replaced the fan motor & water pump on ours at the start of last summer all OK.

Timing & expense was a real piss-off considering it was a replacement of the main components & we're demolishing the house next month to subdivide & build.

Saved a pile by doing it myself.

It'll be up for sale in about a month if you can't get yours going !

Not sure About capacitor

Hi,
The controller is hard wired in the house, so does not need new batteries. I am not sure about the start capacitor?
I had a aircon guy come out he said the motor is gone, might a also be the controller? Might have to get someone out, but don't want to ripped off.

Unless  you are licensed as

Unless  you are licensed as an electrician I wouldnt attempt repairing yourself.

seems  very odd  that  if  you just replaced  the motor  that it would be  dead already.

If its not working in auto you can remove the  a couple of the filters and  have someone   manually start  the water pump.  You should  have  water  trickling down from where the top of the filters would be. Once  sufficient water   has  soaked  the  remaining filters  get someone  to start the  fan. Obviously the  fan  should turn.  most  common  with neglected evaps is  the  belts   come off or snap.  You will see the motor  spinning and humming  but the  fan will be stationary. Below  are  things that have  happened  to my evap  of  the  years   back in perth.

If nothing happens at the start

- the  control fuse  could  be blown(happened to mine in perth)

If the air is hot

- Rooted water Pump

- Rooted solenoid

if no air is blowing in

- Fan belt(s)   might  be  snapped or come off(most common failure mode)

- Motor seized  due to  failed bearings(highly unlikely if its new)

- Thermal overload might need resetting.

Hope that helps  but  yeah i wouldnt advise  playing  with  wires  connecting/reconnecting if you arent a sparky. against the law hey.

Aircon motor

Just to clarify, I did not mean the motor was dead already. Just that was the first thing I have tried since the electrician came out, he said I could replace the motor myself. He said it could also be the control box but that is another $500, and that is without any electrician coming out.
