Head north
Take the drive to Jurien and go out with Lucky Last Cast (site sponsor) or Seasport. I've been out with both and they're great.
Metro charters are a waste of time IMO (and experience).

Bluejuice, Mills Charters and
Bluejuice, Mills Charters and Saltwater Charters from Hillaries.
Don't know where Apache leaves from but I have a feeling it's north of Hillaries.
Shikari from Fremantle I think.

Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

I have been with all
Except saltwater.
jurien best,
then Mandurah
but for the experience Shikari with Al Bevan for sure. Boat not best for comfort or fishing, but less people, quality gear and the closest thing to a pirate you are likely to meet. A top bloke who is a real character and a memorable day guaranteed.
my absolute highlight was the time my mate dropped a MONSTER sambo after over ten minutes. Still in shock Al smacked him over the head with a rubber chicken for dropping such a quality fish (pre shark sambo jigging days :o(. )
we still have a good laugh about it seven years on.

Just took our work staff out last week and one of the best ive been on, great Skipper and deckie, thoroughly recomended.
Out of town, have been out with Whitey on Seasport jurien as well and was an awesome day.

Another vote for Seasport -
Another vote for Seasport - always worth the drive to Jurien.
Also went out with Legend Charters down near Dunsborough in Jan, bit pricier than some but a great day out. Excellent skipper (Dean) and decky, very knowledgable. They use tyrnos reels with braid. Caught some very nice Dhuis, a large YTK was landed by one guy, amongst other things. I mentioned in passing that I had never caught a sambo so the skipper got me jigging up on the front, got three in quick succession, before my dodgy back started giving up - much to his amusement - well i did ask for it.
Couple of weeks back went out with Saltwater, fish not as plentiful as Jurien/Dunsborough, but still a decent catch, again excellent skipper (Craig) who worked hard all day to find the fish and was full of knowledge and advice.

Use your own gear
Lavs, I don't know of any charters that won't allow you to bring your own rod and reel. I've been out with Saltwater, Seasport and one from Mandurah and used all my own gear.
Cheers

Saltwater charters are by
Saltwater charters are by far the best I've been on. Most recently a few months ago. Boats takings included big sambos, dolly, dhus, pinkys, nannies, KGW, black arse all on the same charter.
Also, there was 12 people on our boat so not crowded at all. We were taking off from hillarys right next to blue juice and they must have had 30 people on it shoulder to shoulder. Out on the water we didn't see another boat, and the captain and crew were fantastic and made the day very enjoyable for everyone.
I will definitely use them again.
