King Trout Disaster

Typical story, the new owners charge more for everything. Are rude. The size of the fish are smaller. $20 a kilo for trout are they serious? Now u get 2 fish for $20. It's been ruined. i dont mean to be running them down but they deserve it for being greedy.

King Trout Trout farm down south has changed hands
and the new owners have ramped up prices and down graded customer service.I used to go down and stay in the old cabin while fishing their private dams. They used to have some cracker browns in a couple of them.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

Oh ok. From what i've heard farmed fish dont taste anything like the wild ones anyway. Have had people say they taste muddy and horrible cos the fish are being fed pellets all their life. I think i'd rather go catch my fish to be honest

They breed their own.
They also used to breed the fingerlings to re stock for fisheries as well.Actually kind of interesting behind the scenes.

King Trout Farm - Pemberton WA
Last time I fished there it was $12 per kilo. I managed to land a very large fish, way bigger than I wanted but the rules state you must keep them and weigh them in. Cost me a small fortune for a fish I didn't want to keep.
From memory the fish there are quite clean. The farm forms part of the brook. I have fished up-river and down-river from the farm with good success and at a lot less expense. Rec fishos in the area have plenty of options. The farm itself is a tourist thing and as we know... tourists have money...

the secret is pellets but
the secret is pellets but mash them up and use your initiative to make a batch so that it sticks to the hooks. Prawns seem to go ok aswell. Not going to tell what pond but i went there today and the barra were going off!!! only small ones though.

I take my missus and 3 kids
I take my missus and 3 kids down there once a year,
kids fish for a couple of hours, catch plenty of trout, normally about 12-15.
They clean the catch, we have lunch there eating some of the catch with chips and salad,
Buy some touristy bollocks like marinade, jam, etc. Head up to the Lavender farm so the girls can buy smelly soap, have a blueberry pancake.
All under $200
Trout taste fine, not muddy whatsoever.
I will admit the new owner does come accros as a bit of a twat, is shocking with dealing with customers. Has got a very abrasive manner, although i forgave him because he was a weagle , and we know how arrogant those pricks can be.

I fished a trout farm in SA
I fished a trout farm in SA many years ago. I did not want to pay for every fish, so I was tying crappy double granny knots to attach my hooks and fighting the fish to the bank on very light drag, then give a big yank and "tuna pole" the trout over my shoulder. I only paid for one fish which I poled over my shoulder but had the pleasure of "catching" about 15 as my knots broke.
