inboard on kayak

i was down fishing at stirling highway bridge on monday and there was a few blokes down there with a kayak powered with an inboard motor. bit like a jet ski. looked like fun and fairley moved. any one from here know any more details on the wild machine?

Look up Bob Montgomery from the US, he developed a motorised surfboard many years ago but it hasnt really taken off yet. Apparently the Chinese have developed one also using Bobs technology that is apparently protected by patents. Lots of dramas with partnerships etc and copyright issues. Bob also does boating shows etc showing off his stuff. Just go to Youtube there are heaps of vids on there with this type of thing. A fishing vessel would be cool for sure. They are petrol powered with a sort of piston engine from memory. Not sure why they havent really caught on , but they did have problems with reliability in the early days
