6hp motor
Submitted by Maverick on Thu, 2026-09-17 00:18
I have an 11 foot tinny with an 80lb electric watersnake motor on it and I am looking to put a 6hp petrol motor on it for in the river, just to save the battery when moving spots.
Does anyone have a suggestion on a motor I should put on it?
Budget up to $1500 - $2000.

Yamaha's pop up below $1000
Yamaha's pop up below $1000 every so often. They're great little motors.
I would go one of them or a Tohatsu

Yammy
I had a brand new 60hp on my 17 foot runabout and it was fantastic, I averaged 100km per 25L tank.
Most of my work equipment is Honda, I would say they are one of the top small motor manufacturers in the world , never had an outboard from them tho ?
I will keep an eye out for a Yammy.
Get it cheap enough I can then get a colour sounder.
