C-Map Update

 Hi Guys

Was looking at getting my current C-Map NT+ Max local updated as its still the 2007 version, Used in the Navman 6507.

I have found a few eastern state companies that assist with the update through Jeppeson but was hoping for some one in WA that could do the update.

Any help or experiences with the updates would be great.

get a quote for it first, its a friggin rip off. I had a West coast C map 2003 and they wanted about $180 to update it.

They reckon its cos of royalties but that is bollocks, the Hydrographic Office supplies them for an administration fee in hardcopy to any commercial vessel that wants it.

Unless you are in an area where there have been MAJOR works done, it aint really going to worry you.

The sea bottom is still the same, just might be a few new markers etc. Its a requirement on commercial vessels but as far as I know not on rec boats.

I have had a reply from them and am looking at $116 plus postage at this stage, i have only asked for the local upgrade as my card states Esperance to Darwin, The company has stated that with the card i have i can get this card updated to australia wide for the same price which is a bonus.

What got me to look into it was the difference i found between my plotter and my iphone with the new navonics app, and supprisingly there is a bit more detail between the 2007 vision and 2012/2013.

Dont think it will mean more fish but good to have the latest info.
