I Need Your Help Wonnerup Cleanup.
I'm organising a cleanup of the Wonnerup Wetlands in an attempt to remove the remaining dead fish left behind by the City of Busselton. There are still virtually thousands of fish remaining around the edges that are close to decomposition and this weekend is probably the last chance we'll get. I'm looking for guys with tinnies and oars to carefully work their way around the edges and scoop up any fish without disturbing the environment to much.I'd just like to warn everyone that it's not going to be pleasant and it stinks to high heaven but it's something that needs to be done. The cleanup is on this Sunday morning at 8 o-clock.I don't want to hear from you heathens about having to go to church on Sunday but it gives us fisho's the opportunity to show we care about the environment.

Numbers
Hope you get enough numbers to get the job done.
Would be there if I was down that way and not bunged up after a shoulder op last week

Thanks For the Interest Carnarvonite
There's been a few people getting their five minutes of fame having their photo's in the newspaper offering an opinion and playing the blame game so here's the opportunity for them to try and fix things up. Be interesting to see exactly who turns up on Sunday.

Are You Suggesting lastcast
My first reaction to your post lastcast was that I'm a wanker and let's face it, we're either wankers or a liars and I'm probably both but one thing I learned on Sunday was that the people who caused the fish deaths are not interested in cleaning up the mess so to them it's all just a job. Latest tally on fish deaths = 40 thousand fish died.

G'Day Willo.
We managed to clean up all the dead fish we could find, about 3000 on the day and the City of Busselton provided us with some wheelie bins and enviro-bags to put them in and they went to the Dunsborough tip.I went back on Monday and did a tidy up and I got a tad emotional about all the large Mullet (400mm - 500mm ) had yellow roe in them and about to spawn. If we can't manage our fish nurseries better than what's happening at the moment all the bag limits and closures mean nothing because the whole system is breaking down. My next project is to remove the black, stinking, putrid sludge at the flood gates so I spent today putting a 100 litres of muck through a sand filter and I'll send the end product down to Dunsborough to be analysed. The black crap I mixed with cement to see if I could get a solid lump to handle easily.I don't know what to do with that at the moment but hope the tip.

howard, the expression is an old one
just means you have my total support. Although it is curious that your first interpretation
was of that nature. Hoping that you got a good filmic record of this particular scandal.
Hopefully, having as mny people as possible see this for themselves will lead to change.
Given the circumstances, I can't really imagine a worse failure of policy in a rich country.

Learn or don't give a toss
The trouble is with this failure and the others in the not so recent past is that those in the hot seat don't learn , listen to people that know the signs and they don't give a f$%^what happens because its not their personal problem
