35 boats past me . I was 100 meters inside ban zone. They where heading towards mewstone . Carnac . And windmills. All Out of bounds.( my main ground also) In respect to complete angler rocko who sponred me and my boys we stayed. Poor form . No sour grapes ,but so much for watching. Should be half the time no boundary. Launch from woodys. All good great day , 18 kilo of squid for bait.

I take it that they had no one checking that people were fishing within the boundaries.

Lady who took it
Out had a massive squid. Absolute stonker. Biggest I've ever seen out of Cockburn side.

Nice return there. Must have
Nice return there. Must have been a fast drift? Did you use a sinker up the line to keep jig down?

Sinker
We ended up drifting at about 0.7-0.8knts so yeah a pretty fast drift
We could get away with not using a sinker because we were fishing 3-7m, with any depth deeper than 5m needing
one of those 'deep style' jigs to great success.
Agree on the disregard for the rules, was pretty hard to watch that happen and we were 'surprised' at the lack of boats in the sound given 80 boats were meant to be competeing. Was a little supicious at the size of some of the squid caught as well being pulled from the sound apparently but hey we had a ball and got a great feed

We where doing 1.8 klh
On drift. Still got good feed . No where near the lady's 1.3 kg. It was very impressive. Our best was just under a kilo. Had 10 the same. The rest where around 400 to 500. All good eaters. Not happy with new duos. Pronges pull out of jig .2 on the day ( not snagged) they where good squid .Never happend before daiwa took over them.i put 5 minute araldite on my other 15 jigs yesterday . Pretty poor quality on pronge glue. They must be using paper glue. Always loved them. Still do but they need to fix problem with back end ( business end of jig).
