Hi there
New to the fishing scene. But was wondering is there any fishing competitions coming up in western australia close to Perth? if so where and when? and what are the main fishing competitions of the year to be apart of?

That would depend on what type of comp you are looking for.
Lots of different styles.
Most clubs have a monthly comp plus a larger annual comp.

Not much around to be honest, unlike the east coast.

Maac monthly comps only open to fish for members. Unless your fishing as a visitor on a members boat

Join a club close to where you live
There are a lot of clubs that will give you a regular opportunity to beach or boat fish....depends what you want. As mentioned above, MAAC are a good boat club and Fremantle/Melville are dedicated beach clubs....or you could join Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club that does both. They are species based (only 1 of each weighed) so there are no huge fish catches. Beyond that there are AAA State Championships. Here's links to some of the latest results

Fishing comp open to all at hillaries yacht club end of this month some big prizes too
A1 quality plasterboard installed if needed shops offices housing u won't find better quality or value with my work! Ceiling master!

If you are SOR
The Cockburn Power Boat Club, has monthly fishing comps for their Sports Fishing Section, reward/points catch/release, fishing, biggest catch for the day and earn points for the end of the year, prizes are trophies etc. They fish under ANSA rules. Go away on fishing holidays either south or north trips once a year or long week ends. Just a thought keano1000
