Fishing Club - new to Perth
Hi fellas - I'm new to Perth and love my fishing and love extended trips and very jealous of some of the brag photos posted here. I've set my boat (Formula 233) up for long offshore runs and camping, so I'm trying to find like minded people to do these trips and just cant seem to find them at work or the pick up line at the kids school
I was in the Darwin Game Fishing Club for years and it was brilliant for like minded people. We've now moved to Perth and i'm trying to find a similar set up. I'm north of the river and checked out the MAAC and Ocean Reef club but at face value they appear to be more focused upon the social aspect of a 'Club' overlooking the water, than a true 'fishing club'. Am i wrong in my assumption??
I've done some google searches but other 'clubs' that are north of the river dont appear to exist anymore. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Obvioulsy this forum is good to hear what is going on, but even i would be hesitant to offer to a random bloke that they can come away on an extended trip without knowing them, their capabilities or their boat.

Ocean Reef
Try Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club.
I'm not a member but I've visited the facilities as a guest and it looked pretty good. They definately do an angling competition.

There are two fishing
There are two fishing sections at Ocean Reef, one boat and one beach. They hold comps once per month and have a few trips away every year. It's a good club and miles infront of the MAAC if you've got kids that want to come down to the club.

Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club
Mate, I've been in the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club for 21 years. My 4 kids have grown up with it and are keen as.
Yes, there is a fair social section at out club, but the Angling section is very strong. We aso have Power Boat, Darts, Sailing and Diving sections. As mentioned above, we hold two fishing competitions a month...one boat the other beach which are well attended. We also do trips away, the last was to Shelter Bay (Steep Point) where we camp and take our boats...great trips.
Certainly PM me if you want more info as I've been involved in pretty much everything that goes on there.
