Dunsborough Dhus

Perfect boxing day / breaking the dhu drought, on the water at 530, at the spot by 630, two dhus aboard by 7, back home by 9am with a bag of abalone to boot. Only sour point was the old man bagging the slightly larger 13.5kg model before i could get a bait over the side after putting him right onto the fish.

wow...those are some awesome fish!
if you don't mind me asking, what sort of depth do you usually fish to target these guys? haven't had a dhu on the boat, so keen to give it a good crack this summer! will be down in dunsborough occasionally, how does the artificial reef fish?

The couple of good spots I've done well on the Dhus at Dunsborough were all around the 33m mark. Couple of spots were tiny lumps that you have be drfitin right over and one spots was heaps of flat coral where you could just setup thereabouts and clean up.

40s for these
we've picked them up from 10m out into the 60s, i suspect the ground is flat coral as jackfrost said, fairly unremarkable on the sounder but the fish were showing.
