Yeah i was just thinking of getting a small hand cranker and loading it up with 100lb or something instead of the 400lb we use on the hydraulics, and when the tide was ripping or all quiet on the winches give the hand cranker a go. It works with the rod, but the rod is harder work and lose a bit to sharks. Ill hit up gumtree, thanks.
