Would a bent skeg make the boat pull to one side?.

You would think so considering it helps steer the boat.

mine is bent also and i`ve tried counteracting it by moving the trim tab on the motor but no good and i`m too scared to hit it with a hammer
in case i break it so i just put up with it for now.
