Xmas Present for a New Boat Fisho
Hey guys, the old man has just bought a new boat this year after selling his last one a few years ago.. he's an experienced land based fisho and knows his way around a boat but has never done any serious boat fishing other than squid & bread and butter fish in the sound and the odd black arse off rotto
So far we've had a bit of luck with crays this season but now that the demersal ban is done I know he's hanging to get into some fish!
Any idea on what I could get him to set him up for a bit of demeral bashing? He's got basic 2-5kg, 8-10kg and 10-15kg spin and overhead combos and heads out from freo, mostly around rotto and the sound
Was thinking maybe the How to Use and Echo Sounder/Fish Finder book and maybe some termial tackle to suit?
Any must haves that I should look at getting him?
Cheers

Personally, i find watching
Personally, i find watching a video on you tube easier to learn than reading a book... but that's just me.
what about a year's subscription to a fishing mag or fishing dvds to get the adrenaline going.

Does he have a sea anchor?
Will find it very useful. or, if the boat doesn't have an anchor winch, an anchor retriever set up sure as the float with ring or the sliding clip ( easi-lift?) with a little inflatable float thrown in?

Some see it as rude but when
Some see it as rude but when I was getting setup I just asked the family to buy me gift vouchers for All Boats so I could buy something I like or put it towards a substantial purchase.
Officially off the Pies bandwagon
